Rheinmetall Defence UK Limited was formed in 2009 to establish a presence in the UK defence market. This has included engagement in the Warrior CSP project, DSG sale and the AJAX project; where Rheinmetall fabricates the turret citadel. The business’ focus is now the Challenger 2 LEP project and fulfilling the UK Hub function.
Rheinmetall Defence UK is based in Bristol with 45 staff and a turnover of £7M. It has established core competencies in project management and armoured vehicle technologies.

As a new Joint Venture, Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land Limited (RBSL) combines Rheinmetall’s military vehicles technology and products, with the capabilities and products from BAE Systems, including Trojan, Terrier, Warrior, military bridging and the AS90 self-propelled artillery system.
Rheinmetall Electronics UK has been part of the Rheinmetall Group since 2009. Rheinmetall had acquired the company as former RFEL, an SME located on the Isle of Wight. Rheinmetall Electronics UK provide high specification signal and video processing products to government, defence, security and communications customers. The offering also includes situational awareness systems for armoured vehicles, long range surveillance video processors and products for electronic warfare and cyber applications. The company is part of the British industry’s Boxer MIV and Challenger 3 team, which drives two of the most important modernisation programs for the British Army. Rheinmetall Electronics UK have a staff of 43 and a turnover of £4.3M.
Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles UK Ltd (RMMV UK) was formed in 2013 to take over the UK MOD Support Vehicle Through Life Support contract. Arrangements are now in place to novate the MOD contract from MAN Truck & Bus UK to RMMV UK on the 1st April 2018. RMMV UK, based in Bristol, will have 17 staff and a turnover of £15M.
Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH is an established participant in the UK market with two staff supplying a range of munitions to the UK MOD through the MASS contract. There are established B2B relationships with BAE Systems for the supply of propellant and both companies are currently collaborating on two UK artillery ammunition tenders. In addition, Rheinmetall has recently let a £3M contract to BAE Systems for the manufacture of artillery shell bodies to satisfy a German government order.
RTP-UK Ltd was established by Rheinmetall Technical Publications GmbH in 2008 to develop a UK support business for aerospace and defence projects. Clients include global aerospace companies with local facilities such as Airbus, Safran, Dowty and General Electric as well as support for various Rheinmetall projects internationally. It has a turnover of more than £7M and employs 60 people in Bristol.
