Mine Clearing System Keiler |
 |
The Keiler (“wild boar”) is the world’s most reliable tactical mine-clearing system. By clearing lanes through minefields, the Keiler keeps friendly forces on the move. Mounted to the front of the vehicle is a hydraulically operated tiller fitted with heavy weights. The rotating mine-clearing elements churn up the soil in the vehicle’s direction of travel, causing concealed and unconcealed mines in its path to detonate due to the concussion. This creates a secure lane, enabling other vehicles to pass safely through the minefield. The Keiler has demonstrated its effectiveness during a number of international peacekeeping missions.
