FUCHS 2 |
 |
| The FUCHS 2 armoured transport vehicle is the response to the expanded military mission spectrum, which has added humanitarian aid and peace enforcement to traditional operations. It follows its proven predecessor, the FUCHS 1 which is successfully serving with armed forces world wide. Fully amphibious and air transportable, the FUCHS 2 has a maximum combat weight of 24 tons and features a more powerful engine which increases its useful payload to max. 8 tons. The drive train and brakes have been upgraded to handle the increased power and weight. The height of the crew compartment has been increased to improve comfort for passengers or crew members. The larger cabin’s increased stowage capacity accommodates a wide range of mission-specific systems. Other features are a CAN Standard SAE J 1939 digital onboard electrical system and a central tire inflation system. The performance enhanced FUCHS 2 with greater payload capacity performs a wider range of missions from transport of light infantry and material to command and control. The NBC reconnaissance variant can rapidly identify contaminants over a wide area on the ground or in the air. |
